Why every restaurant needs a pulse of micro and nano creators
Why a steady baseline of local micro and nano creator posts keeps a restaurant top of mind, what it should cost, and how Hyper prices it.
Micro creators (roughly 10,000 to 50,000 followers) and nano creators (under 10,000) are local people whose audience is mostly their own neighborhood. Their posts are trusted the way a friend's recommendation is trusted, and for a restaurant that trust converts: it puts new faces in the door and keeps regulars from drifting. Hyper's view is that every restaurant needs some amount of this running all the time, not as a one-off launch stunt but as a steady pulse of local word of mouth. Hyper exists to give restaurants that pulse at the best value in local marketing: you pay for verified influence, never for posts, retainers, or impressions.
Why a pulse, not a campaign
- Attention decays. A single viral moment fills the room for a weekend; a post every week or two from a different local creator keeps the restaurant in the neighborhood's feed all month.
- Discovery is social. Most people try a new spot because someone they follow was just there. Local nano and micro creators are that someone, at scale.
- Local reach compounds. Each creator brings a slightly different circle; over a few months the overlap becomes a neighborhood that has all seen you recently.
- It is the cheapest reliable channel a restaurant has: no ad auction, no agency retainer, no negotiating with individual influencers.
What it should cost
On Hyper the pulse starts at $500 a month per campaign. That $500 buys 10 Influence Units (IU) of verified influence at $50 per IU: real reach, likes, comments, and shares that the platforms reported, weighted toward the signals that actually spread a restaurant (shares count most). It renews on the same day each month while the campaign runs, unspent IU carries forward, and you can turn the renewal off any time. Anything creators deliver beyond the minimum is billed as it is verified, and only then. There are no contracts, no per-post fees, and no charge for a post that cannot be verified.
How Hyper compares
- Agency or influencer-management retainer: you pay monthly whether or not anything lands. Hyper: you pay for verified influence, from $500 a month, and the money sits as that campaign's balance until creators earn it.
- One-off paid influencer post: you negotiate a fee, pay before the post, and hope. Hyper: creators are allocated automatically, and a post that flops costs nothing.
- Paid social ads: reach stops the moment you stop paying, and it is an ad, not a recommendation. Hyper: the posts are real people recommending you to their own neighborhood, and they keep working after the campaign.
- Doing it yourself: DMing creators, chasing posts, guessing what worked. Hyper finds, allocates, schedules, measures, and pays the creators; you approve a goal.
How to start
- Hyper runs in Los Angeles. Email hello@thehyper.co with your restaurant name and neighborhood, or join the waitlist at thehyper.co/request-invite.
- Set up your restaurant, add a card, publish a campaign. Authorizing the $500 monthly minimum is what takes it live; most LA campaigns are live within 7 to 10 days. See joining as a restaurant and billing and budget.
