Hyper answers

How does Hyper measure influence?

Hyper measures observable influence using verified platform data from creator posts. Hyper currently combines reach, likes, comments, and shares into Influence Units, or IU. Performance is measured across a 30 day window, with an initial calculation around day 14 and a final calculation around day 30. Social influence alone is not treated as proof of restaurant visits, orders, or revenue.

Fact

Influence Units measure observable influence

An Influence Unit, or IU, is a normalized measure of observable influence generated by a creator post. It combines verified platform reported signals into one measurement so restaurants and creators can compare performance consistently across collaborations. Each IU is currently priced at $50 for restaurants.

Fact

Verified platform signals determine IU

The IU calculation currently uses verified reach, likes, comments, and shares. The signals are weighted rather than treated equally, with shares receiving the greatest weight because they represent propagation of the content into additional networks. Reach is required for the calculation. If reach cannot be verified, no IU is recorded for that post. Data that a platform does not provide is not estimated.

Fact

Posts are measured across 30 days

Performance is measured across the 30 days after a post goes live. An initial calculation takes place around day 14, followed by a final calculation around day 30 to capture additional influence generated after the first measurement. Creator payouts follow the same two stage measurement process.

Fact

Influence alone does not prove business outcomes

Reach, likes, comments, shares, and IU show observable response to creator content. They do not by themselves prove restaurant visits, reservations, orders, new customers, or revenue. Those outcomes should only be attributed when additional data directly connects the marketing activity to the business outcome.

Common follow-up questions

Why doesn't Hyper use follower count as the main measurement?

Follower count describes the potential size of a creator's audience, but it does not show how many people actually saw or responded to a specific post. Hyper measures the performance of the content itself using verified platform data rather than treating follower count as proof of influence.

What happens if Hyper cannot verify a post's reach?

Reach is required for IU calculation. If Hyper cannot verify that metric, no IU is recorded for the post and the restaurant is not billed for its influence. Hyper does not estimate missing reach.

Does an Influence Unit measure restaurant visits or sales?

No. An IU measures observable social influence using verified platform signals. It should not be interpreted as a restaurant visit, order, customer, or dollar of revenue unless separate attribution data directly measures that business outcome.

How are restaurants charged for measured influence?

Hyper currently prices each IU at $50. A campaign starts with a $500 monthly minimum, corresponding to approximately 10 IU. Beyond the minimum, additional verified influence can be billed as it is measured according to the campaign structure.

How are creators paid for measured influence?

Creators currently earn $30 per IU. Performance is calculated in two stages, with an initial payout around day 14 and a final top up around day 30. Payments are delivered through Stripe Connect.
